So much going on for the KnittingJazz project the Aberjazz  weekend.  On the 22nd all around Fishguard and Goodwick lots of volunteers were out fixing the knitting to the trees, benches and so many other places. It is a delight to see, not just community knitting, this is an Art installation of a special kind driven by an artist, Lizzy Stonhold. Underwater Knitting in Fishguard Harbour - Easter Monday(April 1st)

Local and national partnerships have come together to support the Fishguard Arts Society and the Ocean Lab. Thanks to Conygar, Stena Line and Seatrust for all their help with this innovative project.
The film below is in Quicktime.

The Stena Europe brings in the underwater tank

On Easter Monday, a large underwater tank will be brought in from Ireland in the lorry loading bay on the Stena Europe in the early morning and slid into the harbour at an accessible point.

The logistics of this have had to be finely worked out and we are very grateful to the celebrated mathematician from Cardiff University, Prof Aillo who has worked tirelessly to help bring this about. A group of Fishguard Arts Society members will be ready to climb in and when everything is set up, there will be, from under the harbour, a spectacular live performance of aquatic knitting of dolphins, porpoises, and lobsters along with drawings, paintings and film.
Cliff Benson of SeaTrust will be on the Quay to welcome visitors to the Ocean Lab and display a live TV link to the tank. Do come and see for yourself. This is a special event as part of our pilot Knitting Jazz Project to brighten up Fishguard.
